Learning Activity – Design of Layout in InDesign

Using InDesign, design a 4-page brochure for a fictitious travel agent.
– The size of the brochure should be A5 (when it is folded).
– Design the brochure in full colour.
– Use fake body copy, but create sensible headings.
– Use titles, headings and images of your choice.

*Fake Body copy used, is of course, Lorem Ipsum.

  1. Oh man – you have to -HAVE TO – checkout adobe typekit, they have a bunch, but really there are so many good free fonts, that look just like the ones you envision in your head. The Adobe Creative cloud can be a bit of a bother sometimes with synching all the fonts you want quickly (it’s actually really slow) but it’s worth it.

  2. (Also in the case of the Islandic, I had to scour the internet for a Myriad ‘like’ looking icelandic ‘i’, but I didn’t have to do that, in InDesign you only have to choose the font you like and go into Type>Glyph and you can find all the symbols you’d ever want for most fonts. As for the dots and lines, I just made them out of vectors in InDesign, they’re there, why not use them?
